Megahouse’s Kuroko no Basket Figure Series: Murasakibara Atsushi!

Hello, fellow collectors! Many apologies for the delay of this post; this semester has been unforgiving with the amount of work to do and deadlines. Things are beginning to wind down since finals are next week. Anyway, today we’re going to take a look at Kuroko no Basket’s Murasakibara Atsushi from the Megahouse Kuroko no Basket figure series. Kuroko no Basket centers around the members of the Seirin high school basketball team, who accepted the huge challenge of becoming the #1 high school basketball team in Japan. In order to do so, they must defeat various other teams, including former Teiko middle school basketball team members Kise Ryōta, Midorima Shintarō, Aomine Daiki, Murasakibara Atsushi, and Akashi Seijūrō, all whom were called the “Generation of Miracles” due to gaining constant victories with their distinct abilities. With the “phantom sixth man” of the Generation of Miracles, Kuroko Tetsuya, and the naturally talented basketball player, Kagami Taiga, Seirin takes part in the challenging Inter-High tournament to claim that #1 spot. Now that you know the gist about the series, let’s take a closer look at this Murasakibara figure!

Nitro+CHiRAL Plush Series (#21): Noiz from DRAMAtical Murder!

Gift Presents: Noiz!
Gift Presents: Noiz!

Hello, fellow collectors! Yesterday, I got this adorable little gem of a plush in the mail! It’s the Gift Noiz plush, from DRAMAtical Murder, which is probably the most popular BL (Boy’s Love) game ever released. The game takes place in the fictional island of Midorijima, which is under financial hold by Toue Corporation. Toue Corporation has been turning the island to the seemingly luxurious invite-only resort called Platinum Jail, while the island’s original residents were left behind in the slums, where the young entertain themselves by joining gangs and playing the popular cyber game named Rhyme. DRAMAtical Murder gains its popularity from its unique characters and setting, not to mention the endings that players are able to attain. Anyway, without further ado, let’s talk about this cute Noiz plush!

Unusual Poké Dolls Sighting!

Poké Dolls are an incredibly cute little plush toy line that were named after an in-game item. The Pokémon Company has released various of them in Japan, and they’ve been slowly making their way to the US via certain shops like the Nintendo World shop in New York. The best way to get a good number of them are online…or so I thought! On one of our late night trips to WalMart, we browsed the trading card section near the registers to find…Poké Dolls plushies?!

Introduction – Hello!

Hello!

Welcome!

Whether you are a fellow figure collector, or someone whose interest is piqued by figures or other hobby items, welcome to Figuratively Speaking, a figure and hobby blog! This will be a space where I passionately talk about my love for figure and hobby-related items such as plushes, key chains/straps, BDs, and among other things. It’s also a space to connect with fellow fans and to give a view of the hobby to those who are not as familiar with it.

I’ve been into figure collecting for as long as I can remember. My first figures were the Mario and Link from the Figure with Scorecards series that Hasbro made in 1988.  My dad got them for my brother, but he didn’t care so much for them, so I ended up displaying them in my room instead.

I always caught myself looking at these figures from time to time while thinking “Man, this is SO COOL!” That feeling still exists within me today as I keep on collecting figures of different series that catch my love and interest. It’s that very love that I wish to convey here! I hope that you find something that’s interesting to you as you read on.

The site itself is still in early stages, so it will mostly likely change in design a little bit. As for what’s coming next, the very first figure I’ll be talking about soon is Megahouse’s Atsushi Murasakibara 1/8 scale figure. Please look forward to it!

Thank you for reading, and happy collecting!
