Otomania 2017 – Round 1 Results & Round 2 START!

Hello, my dear readers. Welcome to round 2 of OTOMANIA 2017! ✨ Many thanks to the Otome Armada all over for taking part in this event. There’s still many more rounds for you to crown the BEST and most SUPREME otome game in this year’s OTOMANIA! Round 1 is now OVAH, so let’s get to the results, shall we?

1st round

The winner of Round 1 is… Sweet Fuse! 🎉 Very well deserved, since it’s such an amazing game!

bracketSweet Fuse will move on to face Mystic Messenger! Curious…as to which title you all will pick for that one.

Let’s talk a bit about Sweet Fuse for those who don’t know much about it.

1

Saki Inafune, niece to legendary game developer Keiji Inafune, can’t wait to visit her uncle’s new theme park. She’s been invited to the opening day ceremonies, and is looking forward to a day of fun and excitement when suddenly Count Hogstein – a villain as corpulent and cliché as he is evil – blows up the Ferris wheel, takes the park management hostage, and declares the beginning of a deadly series of games.

Desperate to save her uncle, Saki volunteers to be one of the participants in Hogstein’s games, and finds herself thrust into the midst of excitement very different from what she’d expected when she woke up that morning. She’ll need all of her cunning, determination, and exceptional insight to get herself and her fellow participants – all available bachelors – out alive and maybe, with a little luck, find love along the way.

Sounds GREAT, right? (The correct answer is “yes“, by the way!)

Sweet Fuse is a mystery otome game that has you taking the role of Saki Inafune. As Saki, you’ll play through seven days of death games. There are some…moments where Saki will become REALLY PISSED OFF (the screen even shakes and turns RED) and the player will have to choose between having her calm down or have her unleash her rage! There’s also a portion of the game where Saki will have her “Extreme Insights”, where you’ll be given several options to choose from to make Saki have a revelation that will get the group out of some trouble.

Yes, this game seems silly, but it’s a pretty solid otome game. It has a diverse cast of characters that will get you invested in the game itself, and with the options that you’re given to have Saki say, you can make her sound pretty badass. It’s definitely one I recommend playing.

You can get Sweet Fuse via PSN. If you don’t have a PSP, don’t worry, it’ll be playable on the Vita as well. I haven’t tried on the PS TV, so I have no idea if it’s compatible with that. I’ll have to try it and see if it works on it.

NOW…it’s time for ROUND 2 of OTOMANIA 2017!

Round 2 is between Nameless and the ever-popular Hatoful Boyfriend! Which game will be DELETED from this tournament?! You will decide that, my dear readers! And as always…vote, talk about it in the comments, but most importantly: have fun! 💖

wooo~! Go Sweet Fuse~! bomb the competition away! lol
although Mystic Messenger is a worthy and tough contender!
It’s like, I love how complete and wrapped-up the story of Sweet Fuse is, but I also have fun with with the more open story and the possibilities there are for the characters in MM.

Kyaa the match I am most nervous about is here in round 2. I hope one of my favorites survives at least one round lol. though I agree it will be interesting to see which titles make it through the longest!

Yeah, I’m really curious about the Sweet Fuse vs. Mystic Messenger one! I’m thinking maybe Mystic Messenger might take that round…but Sweet Fuse is just SO GOOD though! It’s going to be interesting.
