Hello, my dear readers. 💖 Next week aims to be an exciting week for otome fans. Why is that? That’s because Idea Factory International‘s Hakuoki: Kyoto Winds releases on May 16th! I’ve seen several fans exclaim that their LE sets have been shipped on their way, but to my surprise, my order got here pretty dang fast! I got several unboxing requests, so with that said, let’s see the goodies in the Hakuoki: Kyoto Winds LE set.
The box is WAY BIGGER than I had anticipated it would be! The box quality is pretty impressive; it’s very sturdy, unlike the Amnesia LE set box. And, of course, the illustration on the box is so very pretty~ ✨
If you turn the box around, you’ll find a little list on the bottom with what’s included in this LE set.
Taking the box lid off reveals the Hakuoki: Kyoto Winds game copy and the Bento box.
The tray holding the set contents have this nice floral pattern on it. It was hard to capture it with my current lighting, so I had to resort to using flash. 😅
The side of the box is lined with adorable chibi versions of our pretty dudes! 😍
The Bento box is nicer than I thought it would be! It even has a separator and elastic band to keep everything closed tightly. Also, its texture makes it nice to hold and touch. 👌
Here’s the most important component: the game! It has a reversible cover, so you cans switch it around to your heart’s content.
When you remove the tray that contains the game, you will find the game’s official soundtrack CD. I’m so glad it wasn’t just a slipcover with the disc inside! Those little slipcovers don’t do much to protect the CD itself.
Remove the tray containing the official soundtrack CD to find the Furoshiki! For those who don’t know what a Furoshiki is, it’s a type of traditional Japanese wrapping cloth used to transport clothes, gifts, or other goods. You can use the Furoshiki included to carry your Bento box in style! ✨
It’s a VERY NICE cloth! I kinda just want to hang it on the wall, haha. If I had another one, I’d put one on the wall, and I’d rock the other with the Bento box for sure.
Removing the tray that has the Furoshiki uncovers the tray that has the Record of Service Art Book. The book itself is a nice hardcover book. 📘
Instead of just having art, it has some other information, like the History of the Bakumatsu, character profiles and even the Shinsengumi Code of Conduct! I would really LOVE to see a huge artbook with even more info translated in English and art in the future.
This is the nicest produced otome game LE set that has been released in the West. It’s a real treat for otome fans, and even more so for huge Hakuoki fans! If you haven’t ordered your copy, what are you waiting for?! Head on over to Idea Factory International’s shop and order your copy today:
I’m not quite sure how many more of these they have in stock, but on May 5th, Idea Factory International tweeted out that they have 40% stock left. I can only assume that it’s below that now, so if you want one of these bad boys, do yourself a favor and order a set!
I’ve started playing the game a bit yesterday, and I’m pretty happy with it so far! More details on the game to come soon.
Until next time, goodbye and goodnight!
I thought I’d also show off the Hakuoki Vita TV that I got with the Japanese version of the game:
It’s so very pretty! 😍
